About Lydia Lynskey

Lydia is a positive, enthusiastic and outgoing investigator, who takes pride in her ability to treat everyone she meets fairly and with compassion. Lydia is a natural problem solver, and with vast experience working in high pressure environments, she is never daunted by a challenge ahead. This has been evident through her career within policing, where she rose through the ranks and recently retired after 30 years of exemplary service as a Superintendent.

This role saw Lydia with management responsibility of over 500 staff with a variety of policing specialisms such as firearms, roads policing and public order officers to name a few. Lydia’s leadership style of continuous improvement and promoting positive workplace cultures meant that she was able to deliver change programmes, ensuring the numerous departments within her portfolio worked efficiently and effectively delivering the strategic objectives and standards that she set.

One of Lydia’s key passions was her role as a Police Commander, where she was responsible for coordinating serious and complex investigations at a local and regional level into offences of organised crime including drug and firearms manufacture and supply. Her sense of justice and determination has resulted in a number of organised crime groups being dismantled and the perpetrators receiving significant custodial sentences leading to the recovery of illegally held proceeds of crime.

In the workplace, Lydia has been responsible for managing a range of complex workplace investigations that have included allegations of bullying, victimisation, and discrimination. She has also chaired disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings, as well as having had extensive involvement within employment tribunals and court proceedings.

Having a true interest in the progress and development of others, understanding and valuing the people with whom she has had the pleasure to work with, Lydia is a qualified trainer and mentor and has helped and supported countless others to achieve their ambitions and goals within the workplace.
