Liz brings over 30 years of experience in HR and Learning & Development, including at the Board level. Throughout her career, she has tackled a wide range of complex people challenges, from leading sensitive abuse investigations in the care sector to managing large-scale departmental restructures, implementing HR systems (HRMS), and designing robust Assessment Centres. She also has a strong track record of successfully defending organizations against multi-faceted tribunal claims.
A standout achievement in Liz’s career was leading an organization to secure The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies recognition for three consecutive years, achieving Investors in People Gold Standard, and guiding her team to win regional and local Team of the Year awards in business.
In 2012, Liz took an entrepreneurial leap, founding and running her own hospitality business. Over time, she successfully managed four pubs, with two winning the Best Turnaround category at the Great British Pub Awards. Leading a team of 50 employees, she secured high-profile contracts, including partnerships with major coach companies and event catering for concerts (e.g., Jools Holland, UB40), weddings, and corporate events.
Her hands-on experience in hospitality further strengthened her HR expertise as she navigated complex TUPE transfers, theft management, recruitment in challenging markets, and a protracted legal dispute with a major pub chain. This experience also sharpened her business acumen.
Since transitioning from hospitality, Liz has continued making an impact by mentoring small businesses through the government’s Help to Grow scheme, providing HR consultancy, and coaching ex-offenders on business start-ups.
With extensive expertise across the public, private, and third sectors, Liz is a well-rounded, results-driven transformational consultant.
