CHAIRING OF FORMAL PROCESSES

Let us handle your formal processes when it comes to hearings and appeals; our expert team can ensure these complex procedures are carried out in a fair, objective and robust manner, allowing you the time and space to focus on operational priorities.

Chairing of Formal Process

If you’re looking for expert support on formal processes such as grievance or disciplinary hearings, our expert investigators and hearing managers can undertake this complex role.

Our team are highly experienced in running independent hearings for complex, sensitive casework where you need an objective, third party hearing manager. Once you’ve been assigned with your Hearing Manger, they will carry out a thorough Delivery Plan with the commissioning manager, or internal referrer and develop a clear terms of reference for their role. As part of the hearing role they will then conduct a thorough review of the casework and document pack before chairing the hearing.

Our Hearing Managers are also skilled at chairing panels or working as a standalone manager; we’ll work to your policies and frameworks to ensure a robust and objective hearing is conducted.

Chairing of Appeals Process

As part of our outsourced service, you can request an independent Appeal Manager. Organisations look to us for support when internal support has been exhausted, specialist support is required, or the case is complex and requires an objective third party.

We will liaise with the commissioning manager to formulate a robust terms of reference based on the appeal grounds and then:

  • Assess all evidence, including the appeal grounds, outcomes of any previous investigation, grievances or disciplinaries
  • Review any new evidence required, as brought to light in the appeal grounds.

The appeal hearing manager will hear the appeal, allowing the employee to raise their disputes with an outcome, present any new or additional evidence in support of their case and present any mitigating factors for the appeal hearing manager to consider. They will then review all evidence and interview further parties should it be required.

Finally, they will conduct a full review of all evidence presented and provide an outcome on the appeal for the complainant.
